We are George and Ruth Hogg, it may be extreme but we were continually
disappointed with the quality of beef available and decided to
do something about it we started farming organically in 2001.
My grandfather Tom Strachan was an Aberdeen Angus breeder and
that helped steer us towards the decision to form an Aberdeen
Angus herd. Aberdeen Angus are naturally well suited to our area,
they calve easily, mature well on a grass and clover based forage
diet and produce the finest, tenderest, tastiest beef in the world.
We have only farmed organically since we started in 2001, we have a determination to farm in a way that works with nature and not against it. We aim to leave the land in a better condition than it was when we started to care for it.
We have a strong belief that modern agri-chemicals harm people, animals and the planet and do not use them. We believe that organic farming is a system which provides a common-sense approach to agriculture and provides better food. Organic standards have a holistic approach to the farming system and cover animal welfare, wildlife conservation and food safety. We believe that for our future health and well being organic farming is the way forward.
Natural farms produce the best food.
Producing the best organic Aberdeen Angus beef from contented
stress free cattle is our aim and we hope you'll enjoy our organic
beef too!
